I don’t feel as though I relate to any of the characters in the book, but I do feel as though I relate to some of their situations. I relate to Amir, when he tries to act like an adult when his father is around. When I was younger, I hardly ever acted like a child. I felt as though my parents would think I was ignorant, which in some cases I didn’t know what was going on, but I wanted to. Amir’s father often wonders why Amir does not act like Hassan. Hassan stands up for what he believes in, and is decently strong. I feel like my parents want me to act like someone else. They want me to be quiet and not stand up for what I believe in but that’s not who I am, and that’s not who Amir is.
